Silver Diwali Gifts in Australia: A Simple Guide to Coins, Idols and Diyas
Why silver is the traditional Diwali gift
Silver is one of the most traditional gifts for Diwali, and Dhanteras is the day many families buy it. Bringing home a silver coin or a Lakshmi Ganesha idol on Dhanteras is believed to invite prosperity for the year ahead.
In 2026, Diwali falls in early November. If you are buying for family, friends, clients or staff in Australia, this guide covers the three most popular silver gifts and what each one costs.
You can see everything in one place in our Diwali Gifting Collection.
Silver coins: the easiest gift to give
A 10g fine silver coin is the simplest Diwali gift: it suits everyone, it is easy to post, and it costs $85. Each coin is 999 fine silver.
Our most popular designs for Diwali and Dhanteras:
- Lakshmi Ganesha Coin with Om, 10g: the classic choice for Dhanteras and Lakshmi Puja.
- Saraswati Lakshmi Ganesha Coin, 10g: all three deities on one coin.
- Ashta Lakshmi Coin with Shri, 10g: the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi.
For a more substantial gift, the Lakshmi Ganesha coin also comes in 50g at $450 and 100g at $799.
Buying for a team or a large family? Coins are the easiest gift to order in quantity, because every piece is identical.
Lakshmi and Ganesha idols: a gift for the home mandir
A silver Lakshmi or Ganesha idol is the gift to choose for a housewarming, a newly married couple or your own Diwali puja. Our 999 pure silver idols start at $99.
Many of our smaller idols come inside a protective acrylic dome. The dome keeps the silver clean and makes the idol ready to place on a pooja shelf or a car dashboard.
- Single Lakshmi or Ganesha idols in a dome: $99 to $189, from 7g to 12g.
- Lakshmi Ganesha pair in a dome, 15g: $229.
- Ganesh, Lakshmi and Saraswati together in a dome: $249.
- Larger statement idols for the family mandir: from $399.

Silver diyas and puja items
A silver diya is a gift that gets used every Diwali, and our smallest one costs $75. Lighting a silver diya for Lakshmi Puja is a tradition in many homes, and a diya is small enough to give as a return gift.
- Petite Sterling Silver Diya, 5g: $75, a good return gift.
- Mini Sterling Silver Diya, 7g: $91.
- Silver Diya Design 2, 12g: $132.
- Sterling Silver Diya, 17g: $170, gift-ready.
- Silver Peacock Diya, 29g: $290, with a decorative peacock motif.
We also stock silver aarti thalis, bells and kalash in our Puja & Religious items collection.

925 or 999: what the stamp on your silver means
Every piece we sell is stamped with its purity, either 925 or 999, so you know exactly what you are giving.
- 999 (fine silver) is 99.9% pure silver. It is used for coins and many idols, where purity matters most.
- 925 (sterling silver) is 92.5% silver mixed with a small amount of other metal for strength. It is used for jewellery and for items that are handled often, such as diyas.
The purity and the weight in grams are shown on each product page. You can read more on our Silver Purity Promise page.
